Lanteri Catholic Cinema Society

We seek to study, appreciate, and promote good films. The Society is named after Ven. Fr. Pio Bruno Lanteri, founder of the Oblates of the Virgin Mary, who sought to promote the primary media of his day (good books) as a means of combating current errors. We discuss the selected film and show various clips to aid us in our discussion. People are asked to see the film on their own before the meeting if they are able.

Being a member to our new Cinema Society is easy. All you have to do is come to one of our meetings. All are welcome!

Schedule

We typically meet on Tuesday from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Upper Room.

Join us for our next meeting on March 6, 2012 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.   We will be studying and appreciating the film The Passion of Joan of Arc (1928),  a stunning cinematic work of art often called one of the greatest films ever made. Of Renee Falconetti's portrayal of the saint, reviewer Cole Smithey said it is a "shockingly modern performance...a thing of irreproachable honesty and ethereal suffering."  Please join us for our study and discussion of this great film.
